WEEK 2 IT EXPO, this was an intresting experince visiting various stands for the big IT industries that was present, and gaining more insight about information technology and it's advancement. WEEK 3 Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) was the topic for this week, we touched on the history of ITEL, as explained by the Lecturer Mr Paul C, ITEL was developed in the united kingdom in the year 1980, by the office of government commerce. WEEK 4 AND 5 This week we looked into the ITIL service strategies, how organisation adopt there service strategy and different types of service strategies available.
WEEK 6 AND 7 This week the lecture was about the third stage in ITLI, which is service design. Paul, started by defining service design, and told us that the lecture will run through to the next week. We will visit the LSBU Engineering virtual reality suite, to have a real view of disruptive technology and to also help us get a list of configuration items and skills set needed for ACME to adopt virtual reality technology. WEEK 8 This week we were made to understand that service transition is an important stage in ITIL, this is the stage were care has to be taken, otherwise the whole service can be compromised if proper risk management is not carried out before transitioning a service. For this week, we will have to design a student laptop service for LSBU students, Paul suggested that we use the template he gave us. We were divided into groups to undertake this task. I am so looking forward to a real life practical work! WEEK9 This week is a continuation of service transition, as Mr Paul C kept emphasizing that service transition is the most important phase in the ITEL life cycle and should be well manged. We looked at completing our service design for the student laptop service, which we intend to go live in week 10. We were asked to bring in our laptop, to enable us test the service before deployment so as to avoid success failure. WEEK 10 This week we started the service operation phase, I found this week really interesting because we are going to run live the laptop repair service as our service in operation. I will but down in detail how this was done! WEEK 11
This week we rounded up the service operation phase The service operation processes which were partially discussed was also touched today and the roles of the processes. We were also required to compare other university service catalogue. This task you will find on my weekly post! |
